- Performs work in compliance with safe operating procedures and practices including safe operation of all assigned tools and equipment, proper lockout/tryout of all energy sources to production equipment and systems being worked on, and proper use of required personal protection equipment (PPE). Responsibilities include active participation in safety and other miscellaneous training and inspection of cranes and powered mobile equipment as required.
- Complies with all environmental management requirements including proper separation and disposal of waste materials. As required, incumbents move hazardous waste from point of generation to accumulation container as necessary during course of normal repair and maintenance duties. Maintains familiarity with PRO-TEC hazardous waste definitions and procedures and accumulation area management requirements.
- Identifies situations, equipment etc., requiring maintenance.
- Makes required repairs, adjustments, etc., as identified.
- Interacts with Operations personnel to insure equipment is operating at peak efficiency and highest quality capability.
- Performs assigned routine daily maintenance tasks.
- Performs electrical/electronic maintenance and troubleshooting of problems and coordinates activities of Operations personnel in breakdown situations to return the equipment to operational status as soon as safely feasible.
- Works extensively with line controls (Reliance/AB/Siemens).
- Follows all safety procedures, lockouts and related requirements.
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Immediately corrects any unsafe or condition in violation of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
- Performs work in a safe, efficient manner.
- Maintains clean work area.
- The ability to work the 12-hour, swing shift rotation is considered an essential function of this position.

Relationships:
- This incumbent will work with other shift Technicians and Operators while performing essential shift responsibilities. This incumbent will also work with other members of the Operations Group during their week day shifts and outages.
Required Qualifications/Skills

- Familiarity with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Familiarity with Document management systems (DMS)
- Awareness of EPA & OSHA regulations and other related laws and regulations
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Associate’s Degree in technical discipline preferred
- Successful completion of accredited apprenticeship program desirable. Equivalent industrial maintenance experience will be considered in lieu of a formal apprenticeship or associate program.

Position requires the ability to intermittently sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, crawl, balance, reach, push/pull, twist, and grasp. The position also requires good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity and moderate lifting for short periods of time. Candidate may be required to work on high, elevated platforms and must be able to walk throughout the facility and withstand varying, extreme weather conditions. The position also requires the ability to complete work in confined space areas, work with hazardous materials, and work in areas where a respirator is required. Candidate must meet the requirements stated in the Respiratory Protection Policy. This includes being physically able to use a respirator, undergoing a medical evaluation and respirator fit test, and complying with the facial hair requirement and any other standards in the policy or required by regulatory standards.

Repair Operator

Incumbents, under the guidance of team Process Technician are charged with safe operation of process section equipment maintaining proper conditions/setting to control coating weight and steel substrate properties to consistently produce prime quality product with maximum efficiency.
Note: This is one of three positions under the general title of Repair Operator. Operational details may vary between continuous galvanizing and annealing lines based on design and technology differences.
- Performs work in compliance with safe operating procedures and practices including safe operation of all assigned tools and equipment, proper lockout/tryout of all energy sources to production equipment and systems being worked on, and proper use of required personal protection equipment (PPE). Responsibilities include active participation in safety and other miscellaneous training and inspection of cranes and powered mobile equipment as required.
- Complies with all environmental management requirements including proper separation and disposal of waste materials. - Complies with all environmental management requirements and procedures including proper separation and disposal of all waste materials.
- Operates L&N and HM1 control systems, adjusts presets into level 2 computer system and maintains process variables within specifications.
- Controls strip steering through process section.
- Operates and maintains cleaning section equipment.
- Maintains proper chemistry in coating pot, adds zinc ingots, antimony and brighteners to pot as needed, and drosses coating pot. Collects samples from coating pot for analysis by QA as needed.
- Controls air knife position and air pressure to maintain coating weights within specifications.
- Installs/removes galvanneal furnace from line and operates galvanneal furnace and minimum spangle unit.
- Maintains proper quench tank levels.
- Operates and maintains temper mill, tension leveler, roll coater/chem. treatment units and ABB coating weight gauge.
- Assists with removal and replacement of wringer and snubber rolls, changing of pot equipment, polishing and cleaning of process rolls, threading galvanizing line and welding/repairing strip breaks.
- Takes corrective action upon receipt of process alarms, identifies strip and coating defects and checks line equipment for source of defect.
- Maintains good housekeeping and performs other related duties as assigned.
