This position is responsible for electrical maintenance to support the plant operation.

• Performs work in compliance with safe operating procedures and practices including safe operation of all assigned tools and equipment, proper lockout/tryout of all energy sources to production equipment and systems being worked on, and proper use of required personal protection equipment (PPE). Responsibilities include active participation in safety and other miscellaneous training and inspection of cranes and powered mobile equipment as required.
• Complies with all environmental management requirements including proper separation and disposal of waste materials. As required, incumbents move hazardous waste from point of generation to accumulation container as necessary during course of normal repair and maintenance duties. Maintains familiarity with PRO-TEC hazardous waste definitions and procedures and accumulation area management requirements.
• Identifies situations, equipment etc., requiring maintenance.
• Makes required repairs, adjustments, etc., as identified.
• Interacts with Operations personnel to insure equipment is operating at peak efficiency and highest quality capability.
• Performs assigned routine daily maintenance tasks.
• Performs electrical/electronic maintenance and troubleshooting of problems and coordinates activities of Operations personnel in breakdown situations to return the equipment to operational status as soon as safely feasible.
• Works extensively with line controls (Reliance/AB/Siemens).
• Follows all safety procedures, lockouts and related requirements.
• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Immediately corrects any unsafe or condition in violation of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
• Performs work in a safe, efficient manner.

Under the guidance of the team Warehouse Leader, performs duties related to coil wrapping for storage and shipment in accordance with customer specifications. Incumbents are charged with customer specifications of packaging and material handling equipment including coil scale, coil marker, ID and OD banding units, paper dispensing unit, packaging crane, printers, etc.

Note: Incumbents are initially assigned to one of two packaging units which comprise two of three related functions falling under the general title of Warehouse Operator.

• Inspects coated coils prior to packaging.
• Operates and monitors delivery coil scale.
• Operates Nematron computer, coil ID banding unit, walking beam conveyers and transfer cars, paper dispensing unit and packaging crane(s).
• Wraps coils with paper or shrink film and places pad inserts and banding to customer specifications.
• Prints coil tags on computer and applies required stickers and labels to wrapped coils.
• Utilizes Level 1, 2, and 3 computer systems as necessary to perform job.
• Replaces banding materials, paper dispenser rolls, cardboard and other packaging inserts and materials.
• Operates forklift.
• Maintains housekeeping and performs other related tasks assigned.
• The ability to work the 12-hour, swing shift rotation is considered an essential function of this position.

Incumbents, under the guidance of team Process Technician are charged with safe operation of process section equipment maintaining proper conditions/setting to control coating weight and steel substrate properties to consistently produce prime quality product with maximum efficiency.

Note: This is one of three positions under the general title of Repair Operator. Operational details may vary between continuous galvanizing and annealing lines based on design and technology differences.

• Performs work in compliance with safe operating procedures and practices including safe operation of all assigned tools and equipment, proper lockout/tryout of all energy sources to production equipment and systems being worked on, and proper use of required personal protection equipment (PPE). Responsibilities include active participation in safety and other miscellaneous training and inspection of cranes and powered mobile equipment as required.

• Operates L&N and HM1 control systems, adjusts presets into level 2 computer system and maintains process variables within specifications.
• Controls strip steering through process section.
• Operates and maintains cleaning section equipment.
• Maintains proper chemistry in coating pot, adds zinc ingots, antimony and brighteners to pot as needed, and drosses coating pot. Collects samples from coating pot for analysis by QA as needed.
• Controls air knife position and air pressure to maintain coating weights within specifications.
• Installs/removes galvanneal furnace from line and operates galvanneal furnace and minimum spangle unit.
• Maintains proper quench tank levels.
• Operates and maintains temper mill, tension leveler, roll coater/chem. treatment units and ABB coating weight gauge.
• Assists with removal and replacement of wringer and snubber rolls, changing of pot equipment, polishing and cleaning of process rolls, threading galvanizing line and welding/repairing strip breaks.
• Takes corrective action upon receipt of process alarms, identifies strip and coating defects and checks line equipment for source of defect.
• Maintains good housekeeping and performs other related duties as assigned.

Incumbent will be responsible for building on an already successful safety program, with emphasis on expanding individual participation and process ownership. They will serve in the capacity of technical resource, internal consultant and trainer, as well as being responsible for initiating and administering safety and industrial hygiene policy and procedures and ensuring PRO-TEC’s compliance with all related laws, standards and mandates.

• Establishes, modifies, and refines policies and procedures to insure a safe operating environment in compliance with OSHA and other enforcement agency requirements.
•  Serves as contact for safety compliance matters with responsible government agencies including state and federal OSHA, Ohio BWC, etc.
• Assures all mandated reporting and records are maintained in accordance with individual agency, utility, and insurance provider requirements.  This includes recording of occupational injury and illness, training, discipline, medical histories, environmental and noise data, etc.
• Enforces Associate, company, and contractor compliance with safety and health and hygiene policies.  Takes corrective action and/or reports compliance lapses/failures to management for corrective action.
• Facilitates or personally conducts required safety communications and necessary safety training as assigned of all PRO-TEC Associates, temporaries, and as necessary, contractor employees.  This includes initial training for new Associates, mandated annual training, contractor briefings, weekly safety briefings, and observations, etc.
• Develops presentations, presentation materials, and schedules.  Identifies and contracts with qualified outside trainers.  Collaborates with others in the EHS Department to coordinate response simulation training with EMS, Fire Department, and PRO-TEC Environmental Engineer for plant emergencies including injuries, evacuation/fires, and spills.
• Facilitates team building and team development.
• Facilitates active Associate involvement in and ownership of health and safety programs through involvement of Safety Committee, the EMT squad, ERT squad, participation on project teams, recognition of performance, etc.
• Interfaces with others in the EHS Department on fire protection systems.
• Responsible for safety equipment including selection to conform to OSHA standards, purchase, storage, distribution, assigning of accountability, calibration, periodic maintenance, and mandated inspections.
• Responsible for purchase and placement of all safety signs and notices in conformance with OSHA requirements.
• Responsible for incident investigations and documentation, including establishment and revision of procedures, training, and enforcements.
• Responsible for machine guarding and access control to hazardous areas.
• Coordinates industrial health and hygiene activities including periodic monitoring of noise levels and individual time weighted exposures, air quality monitoring/measurement of contaminates, scheduling of annual hearing checks and physical exams, compliance with Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, maintenance of MSDS/Right to Know, and Laboratory Chemical Hygiene Plan. 
• Stays current on all government activities related to regulatory compliance.

Incumbent reports to Manager, Quality Assurance and performs materials engineering evaluations, data analysis, trials and engineering decisions for all aspects of assigned tasks. Tasks include the design and improvements of products and service on assigned segments of PRO-TEC book-of-business to assure timely delivery of product which meets or exceeds customer specifications and expectations. Incumbent provides technical and administrative support for safety and environmental management and human resources functions. Assist with a wide variety of regulatory compliance management, training, recordkeeping, and communication activities. Reports to Manager, Human Resources & EHS, and receives additional guidance from EHS Engineers relative to their assigned areas of responsibility. A significant portion of incumbent’s duties is performed independently with little or no direction.

• Technical and administrative support for Occupational Health, Safety, and Environ. functional areas.
• Assist with communication, coordination and scheduling of required training, technical training and other departmental activities. (i.e. ERT training, audiograms, respirator physicals, etc.)
• Assists with communication and training of all PRO-TEC Associates, temporaries, and contract employees, as necessary. This includes initial training for new associates, required annual training including computer based training implementation, contractor training and others.
• Responsible for data collection, entry and reporting of EHS metrics (safety binder, leading/lagging indicators, housekeeping, etc.) to others in department.
• Manage training compliance through exception reports and administering missed training compliance in Training Tracker.
• Maintains familiarity with PRO-TEC hazardous waste definitions and procedures and accumulation area management requirements. May sign hazardous waste manifest and land disposal restriction notifications after proper training.
• Assist with regulatory sampling and other regulatory compliance tasks.
• Liaison with shift Safety Leaders, EHS Interns, and Management regarding EHS concerns and action items.
• Interfaces with Associates to promote regulatory compliance with PRO-TEC programs and policies.
• Performs regulatory inspections and other activities in the facility.
• Performs requested updates to policies, procedures and Work Instructions applicable to the department.
• Orders safety equipment and commercial printed materials. Inputs purchasing requests for Safety and Environmental into MP2 system.
