Warehouse Operator

Warehouse Operators are responsible for working with customer specifications of packaging and material handling equipment, including coil scale, coil marker, ID and OD banding units, paper dispensing units, packaging cranes, and printers. They will also perform duties related to receiving substrate, shipping coated coils by truck and rail, and other associated warehouse activity.  The applicant must possess strong communication skills, support a culture of safety and environmental compliance with safe operating procedures and practices, and support continuous improvement.

This position requires the ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift, walk intermittently, stand, climb, bend, stoop, and moderate lift for short periods of time. Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity. Position also requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders, walk throughout the large facility, and withstand varying extreme weather conditions while working within the facility. May be required to work on high, elevated platforms.

Repair Line Operator

Repair Operators are responsible for operation of continuous operating line; visually inspect, track, and verify coils; maintain proper conditions/settings to produce prime quality product with maximum efficiency. Requirements include: trouble shooting and repair of line equipment, technical knowledge, good computer, math and reading comprehension. Experience and education in technical discipline preferred.

This position requires the ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift, walk intermittently, stand, climb, bend, stoop, and moderate lift for short periods of time. Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity. Position also requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders, walk throughout the large facility, and withstand varying extreme weather conditions while working within the facility. May be required to work on high, elevated platforms.

Warehouse Operator with Backup Repair Line Operator

This position provides a new opportunity to candidates in the Warehouse Operator positions. They will hold a Warehouse Operator position AND a Line Operator Backup. This provides an opportunity to gain experience for future promotions into those technical positions AND MORE PAY after being trained.

PRO-TEC Coating Company is an innovative leader in technologically advanced steel, primarily for the automotive industry and recognized OSHA VPP star site, currently seeking a highly motivated team member to fill the following position at its state-of-the-art facility in Leipsic, OH.

Incumbent will support a team culture of safety, environmental and quality compliance. Responsible for troubleshooting/enhancing and maintaining the reliability and functionality of facility electrical equipment and systems. Coordinates electrical maintenance work throughout plant including maintenance of transformers, capacitors, control centers, power distribution system, relay sequence circuits, SCADA systems, etc. Interfaces and coordinates with PRO-TEC Associates, contractor personnel, and vendors providing supervision/direction as necessary.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field/discipline preferred and three years engineering and management experience required. Strong project management, troubleshooting and communication skills, and capability to work actively in a participative team environment are musts.

  • Works safely, enforces strict adherence to safe operating procedures including but limited to enforcement of lockout/tryout procedures and corrects any unsafe conditions identified during the course of work.
  • Directs maintenance and engineering activity supporting plant electrical, control, and power systems.
  • Coordinates activities of plant electrical maintenance technicians and electrical contract personnel on an as-needed basis.
  • Coordinates electrical maintenance work throughout plant including maintenance of transformers, capacitors, control centers, power distribution system, relay sequence circuits, SCADA systems, etc.
  • Evaluates electrical and control systems to increase reliability and performance.
  • Coordinates and schedules all preventive electrical maintenance including selection and coordination of contractor services and systems support.
  • Remains current on evolving technology, plant systems, and operation requirements.
  • Recommends modifications, additions, or replacements to existing equipment or systems with the goal of improving plant safety and productivity.
  • Implements or coordinates development of safe work procedures, safety training, and enforcement follow through for PRO-TEC Associates and contract personnel performing electrical work.
  • Assists Electrical Technicians with maintaining technical knowledge and skills. With assistance of Human Resources personnel, identifies and/or develops appropriate training and development programs.
  • Coordinates facility excavations and utility location with all parties involved.

  • Technical resource for electrical technicians and provides guidance and support to electrical technicians.

Relationships

The incumbent interacts with Operations and other Maintenance personnel to assure the functionality and reliability of the plants electrical equipment and systems. This requires close coordination with all personnel to complete planned and unplanned maintenance activities. Provide direction and coordination with power distribution changes necessary to supply equipment modifications, improvements, and upgrades.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field/discipline
  • 3 to 5 years engineering and management experience

  • Knowledge of electrical safety
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply basic electrical engineering principles
  • Organizational, communication, and leadership skills effective for team work environment
  • Ability to read blue prints, electrical schematics, and diagrams

Safety Engineer

Incumbent will be responsible for building on an already successful safety program, with

emphasis on expanding individual participation and process ownership. They will serve in the

capacity of technical resource, internal consultant and trainer, as well as being responsible for

initiating and administering safety and industrial hygiene policy and procedures and ensuring

PRO-TEC’s compliance with all related laws, standards and mandates.

  • Establishes, modifies, and refines policies and procedures to insure a safe operating environment in compliance with OSHA and other enforcement agency requirements.
  •  Serves as contact for safety compliance matters with responsible government agencies including state and federal OSHA, Ohio BWC, etc.
  • Assures all mandated reporting and records are maintained in accordance with individual agency, utility, and insurance provider requirements.  This includes recording of occupational injury and illness, training, discipline, medical histories, environmental and noise data, etc.
  • Enforces Associate, company, and contractor compliance with safety and health and hygiene policies.  Takes corrective action and/or reports compliance lapses/failures to management for corrective action.
  • Facilitates or personally conducts required safety communications and necessary safety training as assigned of all PRO-TEC Associates, temporaries, and as necessary, contractor employees.  This includes initial training for new Associates, mandated annual training, contractor briefings, weekly safety briefings, and observations, etc.
  • Develops presentations, presentation materials, and schedules.  Identifies and contracts with qualified outside trainers.  Collaborates with others in the EHS Department to coordinate response simulation training with EMS, Fire Department, and PRO-TEC Environmental Engineer for plant emergencies including injuries, evacuation/fires, and spills.
  • Facilitates team building and team development.
  • Facilitates active Associate involvement in and ownership of health and safety programs through involvement of Safety Committee, the EMT squad, ERT squad, participation on project teams, recognition of performance, etc.
  • Interfaces with others in the EHS Department on fire protection systems.
  • Responsible for safety equipment including selection to conform to OSHA standards, purchase, storage, distribution, assigning of accountability, calibration, periodic maintenance, and mandated inspections.
  • Responsible for purchase and placement of all safety signs and notices in conformance with OSHA requirements.
  • Responsible for incident investigations and documentation, including establishment and revision of procedures, training, and enforcements.
  • Responsible for machine guarding and access control to hazardous areas.
  • Coordinates industrial health and hygiene activities including periodic monitoring of noise levels and individual time weighted exposures, air quality monitoring/measurement of contaminates, scheduling of annual hearing checks and physical exams, compliance with Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, maintenance of MSDS/Right to Know, and Laboratory Chemical Hygiene Plan. 
  • Stays current on all government activities related to regulatory compliance.

  • No direct reports. Jointly supervises EHS Interns when assigned.
  • Delegates work to others in the department as needed.
